The High Court has approved easyJet's application for a Judicial Review of increased landing fees at Gatwick airport.
The low cost airline has been fighting what it describes as "an exorbitant increase" in airport charges by airport operator BAA since last spring. Following a landmark decision, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will be subjected to Judicial Review for a regulatory price decision.
BAA has raised landing fees by 21% at Gatwick this year following the CAA's approval. The CAA also granted permission for an increase in landing fees of 31% plus inflation by 2013.
In a report published in March 2008, the CAA claimed that the increased fees would improve service levels at Gatwick and Heathrow.
Remember you can beat inflation and start your holiday early by booking a night at the Gatwick Hilton Hotel. This well-priced, popular 4-star hotel is conveniently linked to Gatwick South terminal by a covered walkway.
